Position Description
Assistant Project Manager
Jr. Davis Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager who will direct and assist with management of assigned projects while following organizational policies, programs, budget, and schedules to accomplish goals and objectives. This position also leads oversite of segments of projects while providing necessary support for projects. Individuals are required to oversee project requirements, create and deliver reports, analyze data from project execution, and any other duties as determined by project managers.
The ideal candidate would have two years of experience in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related fields. Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering, but all experienced candidates will be considered.

Position Description
Assistant Project Manager
Jr. Davis Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager who will direct and assist with management of assigned projects while following organizational policies, programs, budget, and schedules to accomplish goals and objectives. This position also leads oversite of segments of projects while providing necessary support for projects. Individuals are required to oversee project requirements, create and deliver reports, analyze data from project execution, and any other duties as determined by project managers.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assists Project Manager in leading in the oversite of particular scopes or segments of the project.
- Manages, mentors, and trains Project Engineers working under their supervision for particular scopes or segments of the project.
- Coordinates work with other scope or section leaders as well as subcontractors and suppliers.
- Manages work schedules and coordinates design changes and/or plan revisions with the project owner's representatives.
- Manages and coordinates the QC inspection, testing, and documentation pertaining to their scope of work per the project specifications.
- Working knowledge and tracking of the scope of a project. Regularly consults field operations, vendors, and subcontractors.
- On a Day-to-day basis reviews project requirements, adjusts the scope of the project schedule, analyzes specifications, coordinates with the production team, and tracks all contract pay items.
- Analyzes and brings positive resolution to any conflicts, issues, or problems encountered during the course of the project.
- Assembles and oversees administration of subcontracts and purchase orders including billing and payment management.
- Manages and maintains project documentation pertaining to their scope or segment of the project.
- Reports directly to the Project Management.
- Provides direct communication and coordination with the project owner's representatives concerning their scopes and segments of the project.
- Oversee and ensure Safety Policies are followed. Safety is everyone's top priority.
- Assist Project Manager with project setup and close out.
- Process & Track all Submittals & RFIs (including logs).
- Create & Maintain Project CPM Schedule w/logic input from Project Management and Field Operations per the project specifications.
- Leads Project Operations with creation and updates of two-week Look Ahead schedules (FDOT Projects require two-week CPM look ahead every week with resource loading).
- Responsible for attending, maintaining, and/or assisting in maintaining minutes for Weekly Progress Meetings when the owner does not provide them.
- Coordinate with Survey with project issues requiring survey involvement and or RFI request.
- Confirm that the contract drawings are correctly conformed to EOR revisions, RFI's, and or CSI modifications, etc.
- Assist Project Manager with quarterly Look Ahead Schedules/Projected resource needs.
- Provide accurate quantities from the field w assistance from the project engineers and project superintendent for billing and cost control, projections, and cost to complete support. These quantities are loaded in Heavy Job.
- Assist with reviewing Labor and Equipment reports with field personnel related to budget.
- Assist in scheduling, tracking, and coordinating subcontractors and permeant materials deliveries.
- Assist with all required permits and permit modifications.
- Any other duties required for the project to succeed.
Position Requirements
Job Requirements
- 7 recent years' related construction experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
- Experience working with underground utilities, site development, or Heavy Highway.
- Knowledge of HeavyJob and Viewpoint software a plus.
- Must have excellent team building skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
