Physician Assistant Role (Scope)
We have a growth opportunity available for a surgical Physician Assistant (PA) who will enjoy:
· Training with two experienced neurosurgeons and a team of advanced practice providers who are excellent teachers and mentors.
· OR Time: first assist on a variety of cranial and spine cases including DBS, advanced minimally invasive spine surgery, and deformity correction cases. OR time will rotate with other surgical physician assistants on the team.
· Growth and development: Be a part of the advancing field of neurosurgery – HHC’s new HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) program for treatment of movement disorders will be going live in August of 2024

· Established practices with staff who take time with their patients and take pride in teamwork to achieve excellent patient careOpportunity to work with a team of Advance Practice Providers
Shift
· Full Time (Four 10-hour shifts)
· Hours may vary dependent upon case load
· Fridays would be in- clinic) and the other three days would be flexible to cover both OR and office needs, depending on case load and coverage required.
Locations
· Dr. Andrew Wakefield – 360 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor
· Dr. Patrick Senatus – 35 Talcottville Road, Vernon
· OR Cases at Hartford Hospital – 80 Seymour Street, Hartford

Qualifications
Advanced Practitioner Requirements
· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master’s program required
· Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
· Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant
· Preferred >1-year experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant in a Neurosurgery or an Orthopedic setting; 1st Assist in OR preferred
