Job Description:VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) is an infrastructure platform to run modern workloads, from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps in the private cloud. VCF integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services to provide a consistent, and simplified customer experience.
The operations and management engineering team in VCF Business Unit (BU) is an exciting and fast paced organization that is leading the charge of simplification of operations and management across enterprise private cloud environments. The VCF operations and management simplifies management and operations across the VCF stack (compute, storage and network). We have ambitious goals to expand management capabilities to support the latest application architectures and deployment systems such as Kubernetes, as well as enable simplified and unified management and operations of these systems to free customers to focus on the business decisions they need to make to optimize the operational cost of their environments.
In our team, software engineers are focused on delivering innovative solutions for providing proactive insights, diagnostics, and observability to enable customer self-service for their operational continuity. You will be part of the innovative team of engineers with strong technical background and will be working in a fast-paced environment with freedom to explore, innovate and challenge the status quo.You will work with latest technologies to develop features and integrations with VCF components and platforms for delivering customer value.
You will be responsible for architecture, design, implementation, and providing technical expertise, defining technical direction. This includes collaboration with distributed cross-functional teams - Engineering, GSS, QA and Product Management to distill requirements to deliver successful customer outcomes.
Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of experience or MS degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of related experience.
Strong experience with Java, including frameworks like Spring, Hibernate etc.
Demonstrated Experience in building end to end features and products with high quality, availability, performance and scale.
Solid understanding of message queueing, event streaming and data caching.
Experience working with Database technologies (RDBMS and NoSQL), including understanding of replication, sharding, leader election protocols and failover.
Familiarity with a modern JavaScript based web frameworks like Angular or React
Ability to distill and communicate information effectively at different levels of the organization
Responsibilities:
Research & Evaluate new technologies for building features and solutions.
Participate and in architectural design discussions and code reviews.
Collaborate with cross-functional distributed teams for product development.
Guide and mentor other engineers on technology, design, and coding practices.
Work in an Agile development environment while continuously evaluating and improving engineering processes.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $119,000 - $190,000.
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
