Position Summary
Summary:The ED RN Flow Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the flow of patients through the emergency department. This position is vital to ensure patients receive timely and efficient care while maintaining high standards of service and safety. This role involves coordinating with medical/nursing staff, ancillary/support services, and patients to facilitate a smooth and organized flow from arrival to departure. The Flow Coordinator will monitor patients' wait times, oversee bed utilization, implement strategies to improve overall departmental strategies.
Qualifications
Responsibilities:Education Required• Must complete in-house orientation program• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (Baccalaureate Degree in nursing preferred)• Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)
Experience And Skills• Speaks, reads and writes English• Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice ( 2 years ED experience )• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills• Computer proficiency
License/Certifications• Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)• Certifications required for assigned area of practice:• BLS• ACLS• PALS• CPI• TNCC
