The Group Sales Manager is responsible for securing groups and conventions by establishing relationships with customers. This individual should be a dynamic, business-minded professional with a diverse selling background and must be able to excel in a fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing:
Initiate new sales, prospects and qualifies leads and solicits potential clientsCarry a booking and revenue goal for group rooms, banquets, A/V and meeting room rental fees.Utilize Delphi FDC to maintain accurate notes and traces for accounts.Identify new business opportunities, build key relationships, and devise revenue-increasing strategiesAssist in the creation of sales generation strategies.Participate in leadership activities and strategic planning.Assist in the development of annual sales plan / budget for sales goals and strategies to ensure delivery of annual financial performance goals.Responsible for weekly and monthly reports needed for revenue meetings, leadership meetings and ownership meetings.Ensures responsible group contracts and agreements while managing risk to the properties within these agreements, including proper turnover to Conference Services.Participate in the development of a strategic account plan for the demand generators in the market.Research competitor's sales team strategies to identify ways to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share.Participate in sales strategy meetings to provide and solicit team input weekly.Review the STAR report, competitive shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel's market position.Execute sales calls to acquire new business and/or close on business.Evaluate and support partnership participation, deployment and fams.Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire employees.Ensure proper billing.Maintain good working relationships with other departments, employees and guests.Maintain professional relationships with customers in order to continue to re-book their business and penetrate business opportunities that each of them may control.Draft proposals, letters, contracts.Prospect all potential avenues for group business.Qualify customers for group, catering, and transient business.Service all groups while in-house as required by level of commitment in contracts.Work closely with Convention Services/Catering Sales/Reservations to ensure all contractual agreements with the customer have been met.What you bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.2+ years sales experience, preferably in hotels, resorts, or waterparks.Negotiation skills & networking savvy.Strong communication & presentation skills.Read, write, and speak English fluently.Ability to execute a Sales and Marketing plan that aligns with resort's financial objectives.Excellent time management skills.Willingness to travel to make resort presentations.
