Overview Job Purpose: Alpha Paving is the industry leader in construction, specializing in asphalt and concrete paving. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for software, hardware, and IT services to our entire staff, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software applications. The vast majority of this support will be for our 4050 office staff but will also include occasional help for our 150 crew members in the field. You will also coordinate and communicate with a national IT support desk as needed. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of IT systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users. This position is not remote or hybrid. It is an in-person role. We have an amazing company culture here that values team, family, and work/life balance and are looking for the right person to join us Responsibilities Responsibilities: Serve as the primary contact for technical support for hardware and software primarily in-person, but also via phone and email. Prioritize and respond to help desk requests in a courteous, respectful, and timely manner using a help ticket system and by phone. Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware including, but not limited to: Desktop and laptop computers, Printers, iPhones and iPads, VoIP Phones, Network, Servers, and Security Systems Provide software support for products including but not limited to Windows 10/11 Pro, Office 365 (MS Teams, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Netsuite, and other commonly used business applications. Create and maintain user accounts and permissions. Collaborate with a National IT Support Desk partner to address complex technical problems. 90% of the work will take place Monday through Friday, between 8am-5pm. Urgent issues and system backups may take place outside those work hours. Adhere to all Company policies and procedures. Any other reasonably related business duties as required, including helping other departments with special projects or occasional tasks. Qualifications 2 5 years of proven experience in an IT support role. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience Strong communication, interpersonal, and team building skills. Knowledge in computer hardware/software, networks administration/installation, viruses and security, email and internet programs Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and MS Teams. Help desk: 2 years minimum experience (Preferred) Windows: 2 years minimum experience (Preferred) Network: 2 years minimum experience (Preferred) Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision (this position reports to the office manager but you will be counted on as the IT expert in the office). Some travel will be required to satellite offices in Houston and Dallas, but 90% of the work will be in Round Rock. With or without accommodation the employee must be able to communicate effectively with others; sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must have reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver's license, and valid vehicle insurance. Must have own transportation to conduct job-related travel (costs will be reimbursed). Present favorable impression in dress, personal hygiene and business attitude. Certifications such as CompTIA A, Network, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or CCNA are a plus.
