Job Title : Database Administrator Location: Salem, Oregon Duration: 12months Type: Contract Remote work/Telecommuting will be contingent upon the key person providing their own adequate office equipment and connectivity. Please note that this is a part-time role lasting for a full year. This is 4 hours /per day Job Description: The Key Person will perform data refreshes in development, test, and UAT environments, assist in the deprecation of legacy DB2 databases, and troubleshoot and resolve DB2 job and database issues. They will plan and implement DB2 upgrades and patches, support the export and load of production data, and provide support for batch jobs on zOS, including job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting. The Key Person will also offer DBA support for applications running on AIX, zOS, and Linux platforms, support Java-based applications using JDBC and SQLJ, and create and manage JCL jobs to automate database and system tasks. Additionally, the Key Person will design, create, implement, maintain, tune, and support DB2/UDB databases on AIX and z/OS platforms. They will manage tables and indexes, promote changes to various subsystems including production, and provide on-call coverage for OLTP applications on the zOS platform. The Key Person will develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts to monitor table space usage and buffer pool usage, work with ETL tools to extract DB2 data from zOS to staging tables on distributed platforms and develop ETL routines using DB2 load/unload utilities, DB2 Connect, and other data warehousing tools. Finally, the Key Person will provide ongoing technical assistance and education to application developers and business analysts for DB2, COBOL, JCL, and SQL. They will conduct performance analysis and identify tuning opportunities to enhance database performance, implement and manage recovery strategies using RMAN, and provide schema development and system configuration support for application developers. The Key Person will also work with developers to diagnose and resolve database-related application issues, supporting schema maintenance and data distribution.
