Cloud DevOps Automation Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a Cloud DevOps Automation Engineer with over 5 years of experience in DevOps and strong familiarity with automating cloud databases, specifically AWS RDS PostgreSQL and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will be adept at writing scripts (e.g., in Python) for creating snapshots of specific databases within an RDS instance and rehydrating those snapshots in other database instances. This role involves creating mechanisms and workflows for granular backups of specific databases and developing automation approaches within GitOps pipelines. The candidate should also be proactive in proposing solutions that leverage AWS serverless technologies and optimizing database solutions for availability, cost, and performance. Key Responsibilities: Automate cloud databases, focusing on AWS RDS PostgreSQL and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL. Write scripts to create and manage snapshots of specific databases within RDS instances and facilitate the rehydration of those snapshots in other database instances. Develop mechanisms and workflows for granular backups of specific databases within RDS/Aurora instances. Work within GitOps pipelines to enhance automation processes. Propose and implement solutions that leverage AWS serverless technologies. Design and optimize database solutions for availability, cost-effectiveness, and performance. Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps with a strong focus on AWS Cloud services. Extensive experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL and AWS Aurora PostgreSQL automation. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python) for database management tasks. Familiarity with GitOps pipelines and automation frameworks. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with AWS serverless solutions and their integration with database services. Knowledge of best practices for database design and optimization in cloud environments.
