Centene is a diversified, national organization offering competitive benefits including a fresh perspective on workplace flexibility.**Position Purpose:** The Underwriter II reports to the Manager of Underwriting and is responsible for the support, development and production of the employer Middle Market and SPA account reports. This position also develops the Executive Summary for Middle Market accounts as well as larger SPA accounts. The Reporting Underwriter is responsible for the production and analysis of ad hoc reporting for their specific book of business and as needed for other team members' accounts. This position works closely with the Underwriters, Sales, and Medical Management and on occasion meets with external clients (employer groups) and consultants to present utilization reports. Provides Underwriting services to small groups (under 100 contracts) by performing quoting and renewal rate calculations. Provides assistance with producing Guardian reports when needed.+ Provides internal and external analytical services in support of the annual, quarterly and monthly reports due to our customers.+ In addition, supports Sales and Marketing efforts by producing and analyzing basic employer specific utilization reports to provide sales and groups with specific benefit recommendations to address high utilization when identified in the groups claim data.+ Tests, develops, designs, analyzes, implements and manages the employer group reports.+ Ensures data integrity of the employer reporting packages or ad hoc reports.+ Participates in special projects related to the department as outlined by department management.+ Gathers and examines appropriate documentation and data required to calculate and produce rate quotes, renewals, and rate renewal packages using IRMA reports and queries.+ Produces quote and renewal rates for groups with less than 100 contracts, employing underwriting judgment and ensuring compliance with underwriting regulations and current rate filings.+ Takes this information and constructs final renewal rate packages and reports financial findings to the Sales department in a precise and easily understandable format.+ Makes independent renewal decision in accordance with underwriting authority limit guidelines.+ Performs other duties as assigned+ Complies with all policies and standards**Education/Experience:**+ 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or HMOPay Range: $54,000.00 - $97,100.00 per yearCentene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.
