Infection Prevention Nurse-IP
Position Summary:
The Infection Control directs managerial functions of planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the Infection Control Program. The IP has the authority to take necessary steps to prevent and control the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents in the patient, staff, and visitor populations. The Infection Prevention (IP) is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections; educating employees about infection control; and developing organizational infection control standards that meet state and federal regulatory and accrediting bodies, CDC, OSHA, and APIC guidelines
Qualifications:California license as Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse in good standingMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrantMust be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities and infection control practices, to include standard/universal precautions and guidelines for antibiotic stewardshipGood verbal and written communication skills with ability to gather information, document, and report findingsGood computer skills-including Microsoft Office/Excel, and PCC experience preferredAPIC Certification in infection control preferredResponsibilities:
Serves as designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDCServes as the on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, in accordance with current CDC recommendationsMaintains a current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practicesPerforms work within the scope of his/her licenseMust be knowledgeable of IP and Control practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Infection Prevention and Control ProgramBenefits :
