Investigating system component suitability for specified purposes and make recommendations regarding component use. Configuring servers to meet functional specifications. Developing application-specific software. Support and Ongoing Product Lifecycle Maintenance 25% Verifying stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Monitoring system operation to detect potential problems. Evaluating existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements. Directing the analysis, development, and operation of complete computer systems. Providing technical guidance or support for the development or troubleshooting of systems. Researching, testing and verifying proper functioning of software patches and fixes. Research and Design 20% Identifying system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs. Documenting design specifications, installation instructions, and other system-related information. Designing and conducting hardware or software tests. Establishing functional or system standards to address operational requirements, quality requirements, and design constraints. Software Architecture & Design 15% Design, develop and execute software solutions to address business issues. Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform. Collaborate with peer organizations, quality assurance and end users to produce cutting-edge software solutions Interpret business requirements to articulate the business needs to be addressed Troubleshoot code level problems quickly and efficiently
