The Tech Support Technician is responsible to answer help desk calls for general tech assistance, using the Maricopa Helpdesk ticketing system. This position must be able to install and trouble shoot basic IT issues for both Windows and Mac computers and peripherals. This position is responsible to operate and troubleshoot classroom media systems. This position is responsible to set-up and support live events on campus. High levels of customer support must be maintained at all times.
Essential Functions
50% respond to service calls and help desk tickets, install and troubleshoot issues with both Windows and Mac computers. Document work in the Maricopa Helpdesk ticketing system while delivering a high level of customer support. 20% operate and troubleshoot classroom media systems, 20% set up and support live events on campus, 10% other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and one year of experience with desktop user support or technical support for equipment, networks, systems, telecommunications, or technology security, appropriate to assignment.OrAn equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements.
Desired Qualifications
A. One (1) year of IT support and/or installation work experience.B. One (1) year of AV support or installation work experience.C. One (1) year of Event support work experience.D. IT or AV Certifications. E. Associates Degree or college-level tech courses (list courses on resume).
Special Working Conditions
