Job Summary: Data is continuously generated by hundreds of thousands of Customers and Cat machines that are operated around the globe. This is creating a gold mine of information to support our customers growth and deliver insights to Caterpillar teams. The Senior Business Intelligence analyst lead Strategic and Tactical analytic projects focused on resolving business problems to unlock service growth potentials and customer value. Turning data into insights, customer value and growth is essential to Caterpillar industries and the Cat Digital organization. As a Senior Business Intelligence analyst, you will join a diverse team which focuses on discovering the future of aftermarket through the analytics of field data, thus ensuring that the best decisions are made by our internal partners to achieve our Service growth goals. Comfortable working in challenging environments with a contagious passion for leveraging data analytics to inform decisions, you will play a key role in sales development project as well as part availability initiatives by communicating understandings and representing our team. By joining the Insights team, your contributions will support futures Service sales supporting in all industries served by Caterpillar. You will be an integral part of our team of talented Insights analysts covering all Caterpillar industries working alongside of other data scientists and analysts in Cat Digital organization. You will gain experience in a vibrant and diverse multinational organization and develop your understanding of business practices and the data driven revolution. What You Will Do: Apply a consultative approach providing data insights to leaders, stakeholders and business partners Lead on cross-functional project teams Present insights outputs to senior leaders and advisors Understanding of segment strategy and dollarize enterprise benefits by identifying new improvement opportunities. Lead on establishing future data requirements to deliver on business objectives Create and deliver insights to support Resource Industry service market growth Works directly with business partners to understand informational needs of end users and create reporting/visualization solutions that turn data into critical information to ultimately drive sound business decisions Coach and mentor other business intelligence analysts in the creation, validation, and application of digital solutions and Insights projects. Participate on 3-4 projects concurrently Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time. What You Will Have: Strong technical background with data structures using SQL. Lead presentations providing insights and business solutions driven by data Previous experience holding project management responsibilities Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience. Ability to communicate with all levels of the business while showing empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need, persuading or defending a position. Evaluates the quality of business data collected and the effectiveness of data analysis methods while identifying opportunities for improvements. Suggests conclusions with results drawn from business data analysis. Applies tools and techniques for gathering business requirements. Defines the activities, deliverables, and tools of a business assessment process. Documents best practices and techniques for assessing application opportunities. Considerations For Top Candidates Include: 4 years of business insights and visualization related experience preferred Knowledge with programming languages such as Python and SQL preferred.
