TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Dayton, Ohio, 45409 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: PCU - Trauma Unit Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Must include Stepdown (SD) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience. ICU experience does not count towards SD/PCU experience. Travel experience preferred. License: Any state RN license is acceptable. Temporary licenses can be applied for on offer, taking 5-10 days. Compact license accepted. Certifications: BLS & ACLS; must be able to read and interpret strips. Willingness to obtain NIH certification. Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment. Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Vent experience - Experience with a 1:5 ratio in SD or PCU Job Description: - Participate in team nursing model alongside LPNs and PCTs to care for a group of patients. - Provide care in Stepdown/Advanced Care units focused on trauma patients with multi-system injuries. - Handle targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with a potential increase to 1:5-6. - Work with tele/drips/vents and frequently manage drips like heparin, Cardizem, insulin, and ketamine. - Be comfortable with PCAs and epidurals. - Perform moderate sedation for procedures such as chest tube insertion and wound debridement. - Be an integral part of a unit that sees a combination of neuro, ortho, and surgical patients, mainly abdominal surgeries. - Must be available to work every other weekend/holiday. - Participate in floating requirements to specialized respiratory or COVID units at the health system's discretion. - Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working on high-risk respiratory units unless PAPR is needed. - Adhere to cancellation policy of two shifts per 13-week contract due to low census, and the possibility of contract termination with two weeks' notice. - Attend a comprehensive orientation and complete up to 24 hours of billable modules during orientation, with up to 8 hours annually. - Comply with COVID-19 vaccination policy (not required) and flu vaccination requirement, with medical or religious exemptions considered. - Approval for schedule requests and time off must be confirmed upon initial application; no alterations post-offer. 26132476EXPPLAT Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Core Competency Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam About Cynet Health Your travel nursing adventure begins here.
