Sr. Configuration/Data Manager Job Locations US-OH-Fairborn Job ID 2024-7807 Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Configuration/Data Manager to support configuration and change management activities at Wright Patterson AFB. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities Analyze the impacts of the configuration management change process on lifecycle sustainment. Assist in the development and management of all CDRL requirements. Assist in developing the CCB charter and assist in the execution of the CCBs. Assist with reviewing program-unique specifications to include system specifications, development specifications, and product specifications for both hardware and software, for proper format, content, and compliance with program requirements and appropriate standards. Support the configuration control function, to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking, and final disposition of ACSNs, ECPs, CCPs, Requests for Deviation/Waiver (RFD/RFW), DRs, airworthiness directive notes, service introductions. Review change proposals for thoroughness, configuration and data management impacts and compliance with Government requirements. Assist in maintaining change proposal files. Assist in preparing and submitting product data or perform other configuration management activities as required, to include support for CCB Charter development and the administration of CCB activities. Assist in reviewing and evaluating OEM proposals and reports for configuration status accounting of assigned systems/subsystem(s) and compliance with Government technical data requirements. Assist data users and requesters with the selection and tailoring of DIDs; preparation of one-time and standard DIDs; and filling out data management forms such as CDRL and Contractor Data Requirements Substantiation. Provide support and expertise to assist in organizing and issuing data calls in support of weapons systems and subsystems. Integrate inputs from Program Office/IPT functionals into draft CDRLs, prepare data review documentation, participate in data reviews, draft data, review minutes, and follow up and maintain statuses of action items. Provide assistance in the preparation and maintenance of CDRLs for inclusion in weapon system contractor RFPs, contracts, and contract modifications. Provide support to the DR function operation of the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS) or similar system for originating, to include assisting with receiving, processing and tracking DRs. Provide technical support in the preparation of and conduct of engineering data guidance conferences and engineering drawing In-Process Reviews (IPRs). Provide configuration/data management-related research, analyses, studies, documentation, briefing development, and assistance in briefing delivery as required to support mission partner activities. Qualifications 15 years experience in configuration management including at least 5 years working in a DoD environment. Must have a HS diploma or GED. Must have progressive experience in managing configuration of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits to enable government ownership of the program technical baseline. Must have IT Configuration Management experience within the Department of Defense environment. Must understand distribution statements and FAR/DFARS data rights clauses. Experience evaluating change proposals for impacts to data. Experience monitoring the delivery and approval of contract technical data to include report generation and follow up actions and record maintenance in the AF Generation, Receiving, Integrated Tracking System (GRITS). Experience performing configuration audits and the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, media labeling. Experience producing release notes and CM reports. An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation. Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments. Experience developing briefings for management. Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle. Able to enter and manipulate data in a database. Strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Able to work independently and with a team. Must have skills and experience necessary to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
