In the realm of medical science, driving innovation and ensuring the flawless execution of clinical trials demands a deep, strategic mastery of clinical research. As pivotal leaders in this endeavor, Medical Directors will shape and oversee the clinical development strategy, steering projects from inception through execution. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer, this high-impact role thrives within a dynamic matrix team, fostering collaboration across clinical, preclinical, and data science functions. With a focus on operational excellence, the Medical Director will be instrumental in forging powerful partnerships with both internal teams and external stakeholders, navigating the fast-paced and rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare and biotechnology.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Lead clinical development strategy to enable early to late-phase clinical research studies designed to demonstrate safety, biological activity and efficacy.Partner with the Translational Science team to identify biomarkers strategy to support pivotal studies for BLA submission.Partner with Analytical Sciences, Preclinical and Translational Science teams to create an integrated strategy for monitoring and exploring cell therapy products in clinical trials.Advocate for clinical science strategy and objectives within product teams.Collaborate with clinical operations teams to ensure excellent execution of clinical studies and accurate collection of clinical data that would support audits from regulatory agencies.Develop protocols, analysis plans, annual research plans, product project plans, departmental goals, action plans, and budgets.Partner with Regulatory to develop and support strategy for IND and NDA submissions.Represent the company as a senior clinical science spokesperson before appropriate scientific, medical, regulatory, business and other professional meetings.WHO YOU ARE

MD required with recent oncology-related clinical development experience.10+ years of experience in drug development with recent experience in oncology drug development.Proven track record of medical leadership and achievement with recent experience in cell therapy or immuno-oncology.Excellent understanding of pharmacovigilance requirements and processes.Excellent understanding of regulatory processes and clinical development.Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver results.Excellent communication and influencing skills and proven ability to lead in a matrix environment.Creative and innovative leadership with a sharp objective intellect and experience balancing big-picture thinking with detailed analysis.The level of this position will be based on the final candidate’s qualifications.BENEFITS AND PAY

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $293,900- 360,000. Salary ranges for other locations may vary. Base pay offered may vary based on job related knowledge, experience, education, and location.
