Job ResponsibilitiesThe primary purpose of this role is to oversee the labor relations function within the Energy Services organization, which includes maintaining satisfactory labor-management relations through various techniques such as developing effective working relationships with represented employees and HSES management teams.

This role will lead collective bargaining negotiations for all HSES sites, managing the full negotiations process from preparing negotiation strategies with the HSES leadership and local management teams, acting as the chief spokesperson at the negotiating table, to finalizing negotiations with the development and execution of a Memorandum of Agreement and ultimately developing a collective bargaining agreement with the newly negotiated terms.

This role will also be responsible for administering and interpreting the HSES labor contracts for grievances/arbitrations and union and management practices, including formulating and recommending program goals and objectives in all areas of the labor relations function.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:To perform this job successfully, must be able to:

Manage day-to-day labor relations operations of the Energy Services division, including labor contract administration, disciplinary actions, grievances/arbitrations, policy development, reporting, and other related areas.

Establish and implement short-range and long-range strategic labor relations goals; evaluate outcomes and recommend adjustments that align with key division strategies.

Serve as Chief Negotiator in the negotiation of labor contracts.

Collect survey data and develop proposals and strategies for collective bargaining sessions.

Ensure the proper administration of collective bargaining contracts on a depot and Energy Services-wide basis; provide guidance to administrators and management teams in interpreting labor agreements and develop and conduct in-service training as needed.

Provide technical advice and guidance to administrators and management teams on grievance and conflict resolution.

Prepare or propose positions/responses to grievance issues; interface with external and internal attorneys.

Effectively present and argue management’s position in negotiations and arbitrations.

Keep abreast of and analyze federal/state legislative and administrative decisions, laws, regulations, and policies to determine their impact on the labor relations functions; and make recommendations on how to implement new requirements.

Write formalized agreements reached with bargaining units.

Consult with exclusive bargaining representatives on contractual matters.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in labor relations preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in Labor Relations.

Computer Skills:

Competency in MS Windows, MS Word, and MS Outlook.

Proficient Excel knowledge to include (but is not limited to) Vlookup, Pivot Tables, and creating visual representations.

Other Requirements:

50% Travel.

Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Well organized, detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks.

Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership.

Ability to work independently.

Ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Physical Requirements: Sedentary

Bending: Limited or minimal bending required.

Lifting: Minimal lifting, if any, usually for light objects, up to 10 pounds.

Carrying: Minimal carrying, if any, usually for light objects.

Sitting: Mainly performed while sitting with occasional standing or walking.

Crawling: Crawling is not applicable to sedentary jobs.

Pushing/Pulling: Minimal pushing or pulling required, if any.

Standing: Occasional standing for short periods may be required.

Walking: Occasional walking for short distances may be required.

Salary Range: $136,363 to $181,817

Annual Bonus Potential: 20%
