Position Summary:
We are seeking a Platform Architect to lead the design and implementation of our Space mission processing platform architecture. In this role, you will develop scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures that meet mission requirements and support our strategic goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our technology solutions align with best practices and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Architectural Design:
Lead the design and development of high performance computing platform architecture, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and meets customer needs.
• Technical Leadership:
Provide technical guidance to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architectural vision and best practices.
• Collaboration:
Work closely with product management, software development, and systems engineering teams to define and refine requirements and solutions.
• Standards and Best Practices:
Establish and enforce architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.
• Technology Evaluation:
Assess emerging technologies and tools to enhance platform capabilities and performance.
• Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including design specifications and implementation guidelines.
• Performance Optimization:
Monitor and analyze platform performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them throughout the architecture lifecycle.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
•10+ years of experience in software architecture and systems design, focusing on large-scale systems using Agile methodologies, and SAFe framework.
•Strong knowledge of cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
•Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation
•Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
•Experienced in DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, and Terraform.
•Familiar with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, RMF) and system security hardening.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional and multi contractor collaboration.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
•Hands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS) and virtualization tools (e.g., VMware, OpenStack).
•Experience leading design reviews for on premises high performance computing data centers comprised of commodity compute, storage and network solutions
•Experience with hardware procurement, reviewing Bill of Materials and coordinating with supply chain
•Familiarity with LDAP and change management processes, including version control systems (GIT, CVS).
In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for these positions is $180,000 to $275,000. However, Altamira Technologies Corporation considers multiple variables when determining compensation, including but not limited to, the level of responsibilities, prior work experience, education/certifications, customer contractual specifications, and any clearance requirements.
