About the Opportunity At DMI, we are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our Technical Services team. This role will sit onsite in our Cincinnati office. In this role, you will be at the forefront of leveraging data to drive business decisions, working closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights. As part of our data-centric culture, you will use Domo to develop visually compelling dashboards and reports, transforming complex data sets into clear and impactful visualizations. Your work will empower leaders across the organization to make data-driven decisions that shape the future of our services and products. With at least two years of hands-on experience using Domo, you will play a key role in identifying trends and patterns from large data sets, translating them into meaningful recommendations for our business units. Collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, you will ensure data accuracy and develop a deep understanding of our business needs. Your ability to interpret complex data and effectively communicate your findings will contribute to guiding key strategic initiatives at DMI. Duties and Responsibilities: Design and Develop Dashboards: Create dynamic, visually engaging dashboards and reports in Domo that provide real-time insights to stakeholders across various departments, ensuring data is actionable and easy to interpret. Data Extraction and Transformation: Extract data from multiple sources, transform it into usable formats, and ensure its consistency, accuracy, and reliability for analytical purposes. Advanced Data Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis on large datasets, utilizing statistical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that inform key business decisions. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to gather business requirements and translate them into analytical queries that drive decision-making. Report Automation: Build automated reporting tools that provide stakeholders with timely access to key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics, ensuring the business stays informed on critical developments. Data Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor data validation processes to ensure the integrity of the data used in analysis, including identifying and correcting inconsistencies and errors. Predictive Analytics: Develop predictive models to forecast business outcomes and customer behaviors, helping the company anticipate changes and make proactive adjustments to strategies. Documentation and Training: Maintain detailed documentation of data workflows, methodologies, and dashboards. Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on how to utilize data tools and interpret reports effectively. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of various business service delivery functions, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and revenue growth opportunities. Ad Hoc Analysis: Respond to requests for custom data analysis and reporting, working closely with senior leadership to provide insights that address specific business challenges or strategic initiatives Qualifications Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as a Master's in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence are preferred but not mandatory. 2 years of hands-on experience working with Domo for data visualization and analytics is preferred but not mandatory. At least 2 years of experience with data analysis, SQL querying, and data reporting. Familiarity with other data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus. Experience working with large datasets and conducting statistical analysis. Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: Domo: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Domo for data visualization, dashboard creation, and analytics. SQL: Strong proficiency in SQL to query databases, manipulate large datasets, and perform complex data joins and aggregations. Excel: Advanced skills in Excel, including experience with formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools. Data Warehousing & ETL: Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency. Data Visualization: Ability to create impactful data visualizations and reports using tools like Power BI or Tableau, in addition to Domo. Statistical Analysis: Strong foundation in statistical methods and models to perform predictive analytics, trend analysis, and correlation analysis. Programming: Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and analysis is a plus. Data Quality Management: Skills in ensuring data quality, accuracy, and consistency through validation checks and error identification. Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex datasets, draw meaningful insights, and recommend data-driven solutions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on using data to address business challenges and identify growth opportunities. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring that all analyses and reports are accurate and error-free. Additional Requirements: Prolonged Sitting: Must be able to sit for long periods while working at a computer workstation. Repetitive Motions: Frequent repetitive movements such as typing on a keyboard and using a mouse. Visual Focus: Ability to consistently focus on a computer screen for extended periods, with good near-vision capabilities. Occasional Lifting: May need to lift objects such as laptops, documents, or small office equipment, usually weighing under 20 lbs. Mobility: Able to move within an office environment, including attending meetings, and collaborating with team members. Speaking and Listening: Clear verbal communication is essential, as is the ability to hear and understand instructions during meetings. Manual Dexterity: Capable of handling office equipment and devices requiring fine motor skills (e.g., computer peripherals). Mental Focus: Prolonged periods of concentration required for data analysis, error-checking, and report creation. Frequent Typing: The job demands consistent and precise typing for inputting data, writing reports, and generating emails. Speed and accuracy in typing are crucial as it directly impacts productivity and data integrity. Ability to Work in an Office Environment: Must be able to work a standard 40-hour week in a professional office setting. This includes the capability to commute reliably to and from the office, whether via personal or public transportation. Occasional overtime may be required based on project deadlines or business needs.
