About the Role
In this role, you will provide architectural and big picture oversight for the development of new or enhanced platforms, applications, and solutions across the Finance domain with a continual emphasis on value to the business. With a platform architecture mindset, you will be responsible for leading the business architecture and technical strategy of the Finance domain, ensuring quality and consistency of our software architecture across Finance systems and peripheral domains. You’ll execute across new and existing systems that align to your Finance north star blueprint, and lead with building and cultivating strategic long-term partnerships through Product Management, engineering teams, the business, and senior level stakeholders.What You'll Do
Define multi-year architectural north star blueprint across Finance domain ownership with a Platform Architecture Mindset: Business Architecture, Current State Assessments, Process Breakdown, Logical and Physical Systems, Integration Insights, System Interactions, and Architectural RoadmapsCreate strong working partnership and rapport with senior leadership, engineering teams, product, and partners within the business to increase effectiveness of Enterprise ArchitectureEnsure continuous alignment of business and tech priorities across the architecture for your and peripheral domainsRecommend opportunities for business process refactoring through traditional IBP / EBP practicesRecommend and help implement technologies and pattern choices that are modern, pragmatic, and frugalUse modern architecture documentation practices: LeanIX, documentation-as-code, diagrams-as-code (Asciidoc, Markdown, Kroki, etc.), and traditional executive or business friendly read-out formats.Involved in steering high level architecture landscapes across all business capabilities and domainsInfluence and maintain our Business Capability Map with Product partnersMaintain and explore architecturally strategic technology supplier relationshipsWho You Are
Experience defining and leading architecture during Finance Transformation efforts in large organizationsStrong desire to focus efforts that yield the most amount of business value that continually views the work through a customer curious lensExperience implementing best-of-suite platforms across broader domain areas and aligning business processes toward industry standardsIsn’t too far from the tech; experiments hands-on with new tech from time to timeProven ability to influence and deliver strategic architecture vision, direction, and planningPossess an architectural blend of knowledge and experience across engineering, infrastructure, security, and data scienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent number of years of experience in Computer ScienceCultural awareness leading a globally distributed teamExperience with retail or retail-related domain(s), with an emphasis in Finance and Finance TransformationAvid reader of tech, industry, and domain topic: publications, HN, r/programming, X/Mastadon, dev.to, Substack newsletters, podcasts, etc.
