About the roleWe are hiring a Senior Compliance Associate to join our Product Compliance team to support the exciting products and services at Chime, with a focus on payments and credit cards. As a Senior Compliance Associate, you will support new and existing Chime product development by advising product, engineering, and operational teams on compliance, risk, and control development and strategies for product compliance. You will monitor the evolving regulatory landscape and advise enhancements to existing Chime products, services, and brand to remain compliant as they continue to scale. You’ll also collaborate with our issuing bank partners’ legal and compliance teams to facilitate quality and innovative compliance risk management solutions.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $ 103,680.00
and up to $ 144,000.00 . Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
Demonstrate advisory and experience with consumer laws and regulations related to consumer financial products to ensure Chime’s adherence and compliance with, but not limited to, the Truth In Lending Act (Regulation Z), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E), and Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD), and other applicable rules and regulations.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance measures into new and existing Chime products and features to meet relevant financial partner and regulatory compliance obligations.
Play a crucial role in evaluating product compliance, ensuring that the processes align with legal and regulatory requirements, leading to the early identification and sustainable mitigation of product risk.
Work cross-functionally to drive remediation efforts for products within your defined scope.
Support the compliance function in defining and achieving departmental initiatives, maintaining relevant policies and procedures, developing documentation solutions, and liaising with auditors.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To thrive in this role, you have
5 or more years of experience in banking, credit, payments, or deposits, or equivalent experience in product compliance. Fintech experience is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of key regulations including but not limited to: UDAAP, FTC compliance, TILA (Reg Z), VISA rules, Electronic Funds Transfers (Reg E), FCRA, various state money transmission laws and regulations.
Experience researching, interpreting, and applying financial services rules, regulations, and industry standards practices.
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Experience independently executing quality, timely compliance management system components.
Ability to develop solutions and advise on issues, with minimal oversight from your leadership team.
