Vice President, Tax

Job Summary:
The Vice President of Tax will lead the global tax function and be responsible for all aspects of tax for iHerb. You will provide strategic leadership to a team of tax professionals and third-party providers located in the US and other countries. You will be responsible for liaising with our leadership team as well as our third-party advisors while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within our tax team.
The successful candidate will have proven experience with domestic, foreign, state and local corporate income tax planning, compliance and audits, indirect tax matters including state and local sales and use tax, VAT/GST, transfer pricing, property tax and corporate registrations/licenses. Additionally, you will ensure that tax matters are accounted for according to GAAP and ASC 740 as well as be familiar with Sarbanes-Oxley and the tax implications of an UP-C transaction.
Job Expectations:
Develop, lead and implement best practices in the global tax function to support the company's continued growth
Lead development and implementation of the company's global tax strategy, assessing the tax impact of critical initiatives and driving tax decision making that improves long term shareholder value
Oversee efficient and accurate global direct and indirect tax compliance including US federal, state and local filings and audits as well as international filings and audits
Drive efficient and accurate tax processes including automation and use of tax specific technology tools
Provide due diligence and structural advice on a variety of transactions including the establishment of new entities
Oversee transfer pricing studies and management fee arrangements for cross border transactions
Oversee cash tax forecasts and communicate timely and accurately to FP&A and Treasury
Ensure proper documentation and appropriate support for technical positions
Manage, conduct and oversee tax research working with both internal team members and external partners as needed
Partner with other functions to ensure tax compliance and best practices
Build and grow a world class tax team
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability in translating complex tax issues and requirements to people without tax backgrounds
Strong team building experience
Passionate about process improvement and team member development
Exercise senior-level judgment and inspires confidence among Tax Team, senior leaders and stakeholders, including both internal and external
Proven ability to define goals and prioritize your and your team's work in a sophisticated and ambiguous environment
Strong analytical thinking and writing skills
Equipment Knowledge:
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
Experience with SAP and Avalara
Experience Requirements:
Generally requires a minimum of 15 years of tax experience, combination of Big 4 public accounting firm experience and global public company experience
Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience
Education Requirements:
Ideally CPA, JD, Masters in Public Accountancy or Masters in Taxation
