(position can sit in Houston or Dallas)The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization, ensuring financial health, and driving sustainable growth. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of financial management, compliance, and operational efficiency.This position is responsible for setting the standard for accounting and business practices at Cognizant Management Solutions. The Chief Financial Officer has oversight of the following functions: accounting and disbursements, budgeting and financial planning, new business development, administering and guiding the development of the Advanced Diagnostics Healthcare System, accounts payables, payroll, materials management and central supply, and treasury functions. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for achieving financial and strategic objectives established by the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDirect the development and implementation of corporate, hospital budgets, provide status reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors on budget variances, and recommend appropriate actions to be taken to correct unfavorable variances.Prepare capital budgets and approve the financial feasibility of capital expenditures.Direct the timely submission of all financial data associated reports required by government and other regulated agencies including payroll tax reports, public disclosure reports, and third-party payor cost reports.Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and make recommendations for action.Forecast the impact of business decisions and expected outcomes on all financial results.Monitor financial and economic information to identify trends and indicators that may impact business operations, planning, investments, and so forth.Review contracts, purchase agreements, and other financial arrangements to ensure compatibility with business goals and expectations about profitability.Develop and maintain sound accounting and financial reporting systems, which will include budget coordination, monitoring, internal control, and financial information and information flow from hospital functions and respective clinical departments.Oversee all aspects of financial management, including tax accounting, cost accounting, and payroll management.Work with department managers and patient care executives to implement financial plans and productivity benchmarks, and to monitor progress toward financial goals.Develop and track financial performance metrics for internal achievement and external benchmarking with peers, educate leadership and governing bodies in the relevance of established metrics and provides for usefulness of metrics in achieving or exceeding net profit.Ensure monthly financial productivity and other reports are completed and distributed on a timely basis.Present financial reports to governing boards monthly.Keep the corporate and hospital executive team and board aware of all key financial developments. Fulfills accountability for the hospital by submitting all appropriate reports and functions as a cooperating member of a great team.Assume direct supervisory responsibility of staff by monitoring performance and setting job expectations. Ensures continuing financial effectiveness through the selection, training, development, and motivation of a competent staff.REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.Master's degree preferred.4+ years of experience as Corporate Controller, Hospital Controller, Asst. CFO, CFO or VP of Finance role preferred.Certified Public Accountant preferred.Strong knowledge of risk mitigation strategies and financial forecasting techniques.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESMust have a comprehensive understanding of accounting, business, and financial processes, demonstrate strong leadership and sound management abilities.Implement training programs and initiatives to enhance the skills and knowledge of the finance team and other relevant departments.By emphasizing teaching, mentoring, and training, you will contribute to the growth and development of the existing leadership team while also cultivating a strong pipeline of future leaders within the organization.
