Summary: Responsible for overseeing program quality requirements, identifying and mitigating program risks, ensuring on time and accurate submission of Customer Deliverable Documentation Requirements, analyze program defects, trend analysis and conduct root cause analysis as applicable to eliminate defects and improve product quality, cost and schedule. Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates. Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions. Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs. Responsible for overseeing program quality requirements: Perform internal quality kick off meetings for new programs Ensure program milestones are completed per program schedule Ensure Customer Deliverable Documentation Requirements are submitted on time and accurate Review program documentation to ensure requirements are met Track quality support labor hours against basis of estimate Ensure high priority program quality risks are identified, communicated, and mitigated Participate in Integrated Product Team meetings with internal and external customers Onsite supplier visits: Process and quality system audits to ensure compliance to specifications and documented procedures Assess suppliers' capabilities and capacity and identify supplier risks Support and/or witness of first article acceptance testing Source inspections Drive deployment of quality requirements, initiatives, and training to supply base Ensure nonconformance (NC's) and corrective actions are initiated, actioned and closed out in accordance with internal procedures Ensure nonconforming material is dispositioned and feedback is provided to supplier Lead corrective action teams, including failure investigations, to determine root cause and corrective actions for product or process nonconformances Support proposal development Major Position Responsibilities Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures Will be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001 Basic Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering OR equivalent combination of relevent education and/or experience 5-7 years experience in a relevant function Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering-related degree Relevant Program Quality Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace/Aviation, Automotive industry ISO9001:2015 Lead auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor Six Sigma Green Belt Certified Quality Engineer Strong Mechanical Background SharePoint TipQA Soft Expert Minitab Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment Looks for ways to improve and promote quality Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety Operates under minimal direction and exercises moderate to independent judgment Decisions are guided by policy, procedures and business plan Ability to identify and seek needed information; research skills Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines Solves complex problems Works independently, receives minimal guidance May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives Other Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25-50% of time, including possible international travel Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent customer meetings, presentations The above statements describe the general nature and level of work only.
