Here, you will grow your career and help create access to fair, affordable housing finance.As a valued colleague on our team, you will contribute to designing and implementing all aspects of Fannie Mae's media and public relations policies, objectives, and initiatives.THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKEThe Sr. Public Relations Associate (Flex Hybrid) role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:Work to expand external understanding and reach of the organization's business, performance, and strategy, and of the Economic & Strategic Research (ESR) Group’s housing research and insights.Manage media relations, announcements, editorial placement, and speaking opportunities.Evaluate and authorize all forms of communication regarding Fannie Mae for release to the public, with a particular focus on economic and financial communications.Draft clear, concise messaging and assorted communications, including press releases and supporting materials for internal and external distribution.Provide diligent editorial support for external-facing economic and housing research materials, including identifying and refining key messaging and takeaways for target audiences.Help manage media inquiries and engagements with national and trade media, including facilitating interviews with Fannie Mae spokespeople.Prepare summaries of media activity for key stakeholders.THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAMMinimum Required Experiences:2 years of related experience drafting and editing technical content to make it accessible to a broad range of audiences.Skilled in presenting complex information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.Demonstrated understanding of foundational modern economic and financial concepts and themes, with ability to articulate viewpoints on key messaging to executive leadership.Desired Experiences:Bachelor degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, and/or Communications.Significant coursework or experience in economics and finance strongly preferred.Experience working with print or broadcast media.Skills:Skilled in creating visual concepts, creating content, and editing content by hand or with the help of computer software to communicate ideas.Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion.Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making with the use of relevant software.Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data.Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal.Tools:Skilled in Workiva Wdesk for reporting and compliance.Experience using PublicRelay, Cision, SharePoint, and scheduling software to book events.Skilled in Excel and Adobe Acrobat.Skilled in Factiva for gathering BI and research.Fannie Mae is a flexible hybrid company.
