Certification Details Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS State License verification (if applicable) - within 30 days prior to start date CRTs & RRTs: Must be licensed by the State of Georgia Annual Nursys (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days prior to start date NIH Stroke Certification Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam Job Details Minimum Experience: 1 year; 1st Timers not accepted Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: Overflow IMCU; Arrhythmia management; Cardioversion, Cardiac CHF, Chest pain, Renal, Pulmonary (COPD, empysema, pulmonary edema) PE, DVT Cardiac Arrhythmias (stable A-Fib, SVT, Bradycardia) Surgical (cholecystectomy, appy's, chest tubes, biliary drains) Occasional vascular patients, Post Cardiac Cath, TR Bands, DKA. Occasional Ortho or CVA patient overflow- These patients are transferred as soon as possible to appropriate unit; TR Bands, EXP with cardiac drips and hemodynamic monitoring and care of pts post PCI is a must as well as EVERYTHING under the MEd/Surg umbrella, Basic arrhythmia knowledge, Cardiac Drip knowledge: amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone, heparin, argatroban, aggrastat, bumex and lasix Ratio / Census: 1:5-6; 32 beds Unit Systems: Epic (Preferred), Pyxis, SBAR Scrub Color: Navy Blue Pre-Screen Unit - Candidate will be reviewed by clinical to determine clinical fit, if clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines, candidate will be sent to the manager for final decision. Clinical screens will be sent on case-by-case basis. Travelers typically do not get Precedex, this is for core staff to manage Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
