We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team.? The ideal candidate will be responsible for the upkeep, setup, and dependable operation of our 24/7 databases, ensuring their performance, availability, scalability, and security to support the organizations growth and operations. Duties/Responsibilities: ? Oversee the administration of SQL Server databases including installation, configuration, and upgrading of database software in an enterprise systems environment.? Design and implement database structures, OLTP designs, and data models.? Perform maintenance, upgrades, and patches on all database environments (On premises and cloud).? Monitor and optimize database performance and query processing, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.? Implement and maintain database security (user accounts, roles, and permissions).? Define and implement security policies and procedures and maintain security and integrity controls.? Design, implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability for on-premises and cloud database backup environments.? Plan and execute data migrations and conversions between different database systems including Azure Hybrid.? Set up and maintain database Availability Groups in an Always on Availability environment to ensure data redundancy and high availability.? Develop scripts and automation processes to streamline database management tasks.? Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.? Work closely with development, QA, and DevSecOps teams to support infrastructure, application development, deployment, and troubleshooting.? Provide support to users, developers, and other stakeholders, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure uptime and availability.? Develop Key Performance Indicators that track and measure service delivery, capacity management and usability. Skills and Abilities: Experience with MongoDB (Atlas), PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL administration a plus.? In-depth knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, backup and recovery processes, and security best practices.? Prior experience participating in an on-call rotation for database support.? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.? Understanding of cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure, and Azure SQL Database).? Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.? Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.? Proficiency with database management and monitoring tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Solarwinds, pgAdmin, MongoDB Compass, and others.? Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.? Ability to work independently and as part of a team.? Ability to work under pressure. Education and Experience: ? ?Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Senior Database Administrator, with significant experience in SQL Server environments.? Minimum 5 years of experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and scale out deployments, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), installation, configuration, migration, and support.? Minimum of 3 years of experience with Always On Availability groups in SQL Server and Windows Failover clustering.? Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, MongoDB Certified DBA, or PostgreSQL Certified Professional are a plus.?
