Computer ScientistATEC is looking for a Computer Scientist to support the Visual Surveillance Advisory System (VSAS) and Automation Engineering team in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).Applicable functional areas include proficiency and knowledge of computer programming and networking. Additionally, skills and experience with system interfaces as well as electrical engineering concepts and principles.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS+ The person in this position will work specifically with the VSAS Team using Ocularis (Video Management Software), AutoHotkey Scripting, along with knowledge of Computer Programming and Networking to provide remote technical support of VSAS in a Windows/Linux environment.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:+ Create and Maintain Technical Documentation+ Ability to work individually and within a group/team+ Ability to take direction and initiative; ability to provide direction and training+ Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical peopleKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:Required:+ Computer Programming and Networking+ Electrical Engineering Concepts and Principles+ AutoHotkey Scripting+ Windows/LINUX+ Communicate technical issues with non-technical people+ Excellent oral and written communication skills+ Able to work in a fast paced and challenging environmentPreferred:+ Ocularis (Video Management Software)Bonus:+ Fall/Arrest Training and EquipmentEDUCATION/YEARS of EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:+ Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelors degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and twelve (12) years of related work experience in a computer science or math fieldOR+ Masters Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and nine (9) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:+ US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US+ Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation+ Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 yearsWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:+ Desk/lab located at the William J.
