Community charities are championed by TEAM LEWIS’ employees, who volunteer their time and skills to maximise the grants’ effectiveness.Purpose of the roleThe Campaign Executive is a media-focused role that also provides administrative support to the wider Account Servicing team. The Campaign Executive takes ownership of foundational tasks related to the management of client accounts and projects to ensure a successful program and account team. This includes proactively owning and communicating about assigned tasks, writing, being an integral part of media outreach efforts, leading reporting efforts, and communicating directly with clients.The role requires the ability to handle several tasks and projects at any one time, working to meet deadlines and proactively pursuing activity. The Campaign Executive will develop a clear understanding of the team’s requirements and objectives, be proactive in attitude and supportive to the team at all times.The Campaign Executive is well-versed in media relations, client relations, and plays a lead role in delivering major media features for clients, as well as helps to manage the team and lead client-facing interactions. The candidate should have solid social media, technical, and creative writing skills. It is essential that in this role the ideal candidate will take proactive ownership of accounts, overseeing the strategy for media relations focused tasks, assessing accounts overall to develop strategies and tactics, and supporting team members at all levels.Key responsibilities and tasksClient ManagementAssists the team with the management of client accounts and projects, helping to establish TEAM LEWIS as an invaluable long-term partner for marketing and communications servicesProvides creative brainstorming and assists in pitch development to media outletsCoordinates communication (including meetings and reviews) with clients, adhering to deadlines and client service level agreementsSpeaks on client calls; able to respond to specific client requests with minimal support; circulates status notes and actions and coverage updates with minimal guidance from senior teamExecutes ongoing assigned tasks with minimal guidance from senior team; delivers results effectively.Ensures that all account activity and results are tracked and communicated to the rest of the team.Provides reports to the management team on requestSupports the new business process by providing research and coordinationAssists with the coordination of press tours, events, and review programMedia RelationsUnderstands and avidly follows the news agenda, positioning clients and products within contextResearches and identifies appropriate journalists, bloggers, and analysts on an on-going basisDevelops media and blogger relationships and understands the individual needs of target journalists, bloggers and analystsRegularly pitches media and proactively drives opportunities forward with guidance of senior teamMonitors relevant news sources and alerts the team to relevant breaking news opportunitiesDevelops an understanding of strong news angles and media opportunities, escalating these to more senior team membersOrganizes and coordinates media interviews and press briefingsUnderstands and develops knowledge around finding a good news angles or hooksTracks and reports on media activity, including coverage reports, press clippings, online media engagementContentDrafts a broad range of written materials including thought leadership, press releases, biographies, briefing documents, media alerts, soundbites, Q&As, backgrounders and boilerplatesCreates press materials and compelling content for both traditional and digital mediaCreates valuable and insightful briefing sheets to assist clients with their press communicationsDevelops and shares knowledge around how to find a good news angle or hookFocuses on improving writing ability, adapting and refining style to suit the needs of the clientCreates valuable and insightful briefing sheets to assist clients with their press communicationsDigital / Social MediaUses social media platforms to expand own network, develop media relationships and positively impact client resultsProvides social media insight as well as execution and management of related digital activityDemonstrates understanding of digital channels and their roles in the marketing funnel; connections to media relations, and impactTeam Working and DevelopmentEnsures personal and deliverable client objectives are met on an on-going basisAccurately reports activity levels and regularly completes timesheets to ensure correct allocation of client and team dutiesEscalates general new business requests to appropriate team membersWorks closely with line manager to maximize own strengths, improve weaknesses and support individual and team career developmentOversees and supports workflow and development of junior team membersRegularly attends TEAM LEWIS training sessions and daily press briefings to enhance skills and develop knowledgeReporting and AnalysisTracks and reports on media activity, including coverage reports, press clippings, online media engagement, showing progress using metricsEnsures that all account activity and results are reported back to the Senior Campaign Executive/Campaign Manager/Campaign DirectorCommunicates account performance internally at account reviewsProvides reports to the Campaign Director or senior management team on requestGeneralSupports the Account Servicing team on ad hoc initiatives and projectsTakes a proactive role in promoting the TEAM LEWIS brand, its work, identity and valuesSupports the HR / talent team by promoting both internal and external opportunities at TEAM LEWIS across social media and via the referral schemeContributes and supports the continuous improvement of systems, practices and policies
