Reporting to the Corporate Vice President, Global Employee Relations, the Director, Employee Relations is responsible for promoting the Company culture and values, and leading initiatives in order to establish and maintain positive employee relations across various functions of the USA Division while taking into account organizational challenges. As a key member of HR team, you will accompany teams in managing application and interpretation of practices, working conditions and policies that promotes employee engagement in line with labor laws and collective agreements.
How you will make contributions that matter...
Act as a strategic partner with the business leadership and HR teams at all levels in order to develop and maintain a proactive approach towards employee relations based on best practices and opportunities for improved practices
Liaison with the SDUSA Senior Vice President, Human Resources and the HR management team to facilitate alignment with USA Division objectives consistent with the Corporate strategy
Partner with the business and the HR team to understand respective regional challenges and opportunities in terms of Employee Relations in all areas of the business (unionized and non-unionized)
Drive and lead a functionalandsuccessfulnegotiationprocess including all required preparation, aligning with businessobjectives and goals, and assist in construction of the mitigation plan
Promote effective labor-management relations conducive to operational and administrative efficiency
Research and analyze trends, case law and doctrine; enabling it to provide recommendations to support the HR team in decision-making
Develop and maintain a network of internal and external contributors in order to exchange and consult on trends, industry developments, and benchmarking materials
Initiates and manages workgroup alignment meetings to address program changes, tactical issues, critical risks, technical challenges, etc.
Proactively notify key stakeholders of potential disruptions or activities that could affect the efficiency of operations and recommend solutions to avoid or resolve the challenges
Champion the Saputo Culture across the US Division, bringing a unified approach to the business with regards to employee relations and union relations
Identify opportunities within our workforce, emphasizing on key elements that build stronger and more engaged employee
Provides leadership to overcome the obstacles and challenges associated with implementing changes in a union environment and to navigate these challenges effectively
Lead and manage various administrative duties related to Employee Relations
You are best suited for the role if you have the following experiences, skills, and qualifications
Minimum 10 years Human Resource Generalist experience, including a minimum of 3 years' experience in Labor Relations' management.
Labor Relations experience working with Unions and leading negotiations is required.
A Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management or Labor Relations.
The ability to flex a wide variety of skillsets, including tactical planning, creative problem solving, data analysis and people development.
Proven leadership abilities.
The ability to break down complex problems into pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, assumptions, and judgment.
A history of creating a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and learning.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
A dependable, flexible and team-oriented mind set with a history of being able to work independently.
Cost and risk management skills.
An ability to delegate tasks to employees best positioned to complete them.
CHRP designation would be an asset.
The ability to travel up to 25% of the time may be needed

Salary Range:
$141,700 - $186,000
salary offers vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
