Role
As a Technical Accounting and Policies leader, you will be the go-to person for complex technical accounting matters, regulatory updates, ensure compliance with US GAAP, foster strong partnerships across the organization, and advise business partners and executive leaders accordingly. What you will be doing:
Responsibilities:
Serve as the Company’s technical accounting expert – proactively evaluate complex transactions and provide technical accounting guidance and disclosure recommendations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Conduct accounting research, consult with external experts, and prepare or review technical accounting memos for complex transactions.
Stay current on FASB and SEC pronouncements and interpret impact to the Company in partnership with internal partners and external auditors.
Support the drafting of FASB and SEC comment letter responses for executive review.
Oversee accounting policies drafting and updating while staying current on evolving industry practices.
Establish a formal technical accounting update program to train partners within the Finance organization and cross-functional business partners regarding current policy and regulatory updates.
Support the global accounting team in the implementation of accounting for complex transactions, new activities, and new standards or regulatory requirements.
Oversee accounting for various corporate level transactions.
Partner with external and internal auditors to manage the timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits.
Perform other ad hoc duties as necessary and assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from a leading university in Finance or Accounting.
Active CPA or equivalent qualification.
8+ years of public accounting and/or related industry experience.
5+ years with a technical accounting focus; technical proficiency across various areas of US GAAP.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and influencing skills.
Excellent inter-personal skills and a proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels.
Ability to research, interpret, apply, and communicate complex accounting guidance independently.
Experience with public high-growth manufacturing and/or semiconductor companies a plus.
Adept at prioritization, responsiveness, and understanding a sense of urgency.
Self-directed and motivated to continuously improve processes to exceed customer expectations.
Strong project management experience and ability to identify and implement process improvements.
Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $113,500.00 - $264,000.00.
