We are currently seeking a Sports and Recreation Project Architect to join our Higher Education practice area:
ResponsibilitiesTake responsibility for finished plans, specifications, and approval of materials and construction documentsApply sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principles and practices in a broad array of assignments and related fieldsAct independently regarding architectural methods and complexitiesUse advanced techniques and modify/extend theories, precepts, and practicesAssist with budget managementPrepare design presentation materialsWork directly with client and/or user group to develop schematic design concepts and programming studiesObserve architectural features of structures in the fieldProvide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large, complex projectsWrite specifications as assignedConduct code research and analysis and review with various agencies for approvalCollaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors and/or clients.Assume Project Manager role as necessaryPrepare project proposals, design team budget, schedule, and workforce projectionsSupervise and provide guidance regarding overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy mattersEnsure that the project meets environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standardsManage and nurture the client relationshipSupervise design team members as necessaryPerform construction administration to include facilitation of project communications, maintenance of project records, review and certification of amounts due to contractors, and preparation of change ordersProvide architectural production support as requiredProduce work involving a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirementsReview shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIsProduce construction documents, revisions, and addendumsRequirements
Professional degree in Architecture from an NAAB-accredited programsRegistered as a licensed architectAbility to provide business development for firm within practice expertise area6-8 years combined experience as a design professional and/or architectProficiency with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and RevitFirm grasp of building technology fundamentalsThorough knowledge of relevant codes, operations, processes, and trendsExcellent time management, organizational and written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree of ArchitectureExperience with Newforma Project Center and/or Newforma Project AnalyzerExperience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam PDF RevuAdditional relevant certifications indicating additional expertise such as for construction administration, interior design, LEED/Green Globes/sustainability, etc.Experience writing and editing specifications Write and edit specifications as assignedPosition Location
