include some of the following:Have opportunities to use biological data science skills to impact all phases of drug development, from discovery and development to post marketing safety and drug resistance monitoringAnalyze viral genetic sequences, next generation sequencing (NGS) and biomarker data in support of preclinical and clinical programs that benefiting millions of people living with HIV globallyAdopt, evaluate and develop world-class viral bioinformatics technologies and analytical pipelinesExercise your excellent communication and project management skills by working closely with a diverse group of partners including external collaborators, vendors, and internal groups in our global matrix organizationCollaborate with other team members to develop and maintain internal bioinformatics platform that follows best practices in R&DMaintain knowledge of competitive market conditions, patient requirements, and technology advancesInfluence organizational thinking, design and execution of ViiV R&D projects and processes via your scientific insightsMake significant contributions to advancing HIV therapeutics as a key player through either leading the projects or functioning as a core team memberWhy you?

Basic Qualifications:We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, systems biology, biomedical engineering, computer science or mathematics.3+ years industry experienceExperience in Linux/Unix, high performance computing cluster and environment management tools (e.g. Conda/Mamba)3 + years' experience with Python and shell scriptingExperience in biological sequence analysis, including multiple sequence alignment and genome analysisExperience in NGS data analysis with deep understanding in variant callingExperience in bioinformatics data wrangling, analysis and visualization using Python, BioPython and Panda.Experience in statistical analysis and machine learningExperience using Python packages for data analysisPreferred Qualifications:If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:Bioinformatics experience in HIV or microbial metagenomicsPython package development experiencesIndependent problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsStrong team spirit and close interaction within a small teamHands-on expert values efficiency and productivityDetail oriented and deliverables drivenExperience with stakeholder and project managementExperience of working in regulatory environmentWorking knowledge of molecular biology#LI-GSK#LI-ViiVPlease visit GSK US Benefits Summary to learn more about the comprehensive benefits program ViiV offers US employees.
