The Director will help develop and lead the strategic vision, management, negotiation and activation of marquee sports and entertainment properties in the brand’s portfolio. The candidate will lead interfacing day-to-day with the client team, manage junior team members, and will work cross-functionally with internal/external vendors, clients and agencies.The DepartmentCAA Brand Consulting is a strategy-led, full-service marketing agency with expertise in Cultural and Consumer Insights, Data and Analytics, Talent/Influencer and Property Partnership Advisory, Experiential, Social Impact, Creative Services, and Content and Digital Strategy.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deliver overarching strategic vision based on brand objectives for existing and new global sports and entertainment partnershipsIdentify solutions in the sports & entertainment marketing partnership marketplaceSenior oversight of existing marquee sports and entertainment partnerships including day-to-day communication directly with properties, partnership asset tracking, hospitality management, recapping, and other supporting planning/communication materialsDevelop and deliver compelling written and verbal communicationsLead overall planning of campaigns, events and activations, working with internal account team, client team and external agenciesDevelop integrated marketing and sponsorship activation plans, showcasing how digital, social, PR, retail and other channels come to lifeDevelop & oversee execution of property-specific programs, contractual assets, promotions & experiential activationsLead recommendation, negotiation and management of talent dealsOversee & facilitate the creative development process of marketing materials, experiential assets and event-related creativeAct as quarterback to lead integrated agency team as requested by clients, working collaboratively with other agenciesWork with CAA Data & Analytics to oversee the management of brand portfolio measurement evaluationWork with other team functions to ensure goals and objectives are metManage and train junior staff membersCreate presentations for key meetings internally and externallyTrack activation and travel budgets with accountability for reportingDevelop relationships across CAA to find and promote new opportunities to clientRequirementsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience7 – 10+ years’ experience in sports & entertainment consulting environmentEstablished relationships with properties and entities in the sports & entertainment marketing worldBest-in-class client servicing and relationship-buildingProject management skillsStrong negotiation experienceExceptional verbal and written communication skillsExpert in working across Google Slides/Docs/Sheets, Slack, Microsoft Word Platforms (Excel, PPT)Exceptional attention to detailAbility to “think on one’s feet” in a fast-paced, agency environmentAbility to balance and progress multiple projects and project components at one time, on tight timelinesSolution-orientedKnown for immediate client communication, responsiveness, and dependabilityAbility to travel and attend work events outside normal business hours on an as needed basisStrong organization skillsExperience managing direct reports at various levels, with an interest in mentorship and coachingPreferred SkillsUnderstanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain technologiesExperience managing partnerships across the NBA and WNBAGeneral knowledge of Formula OneGeneral knowledge of Esports & GamingLocationBased out of the Los Angeles offices this role is onsite/in office Tuesday thru Thursday and remote Monday and Friday.CompensationThe annual base salary for this position is in the range of $112,000-$165,000. This position also is eligible for benefits and discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
