Stepdown - Days - Newburgh, IN **AUTO OFFER** $3,318 Gross Weekly/48 hrs. or $2,506 wk./36 hrs. NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE) Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 11/18 or 12/2 - Bi-weekly orientation Guaranteed Hours: 36 (will accept 48 upon request) Primary location: Newburgh, IN Shift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7 Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Campuses are 8 miles apart & potential to float to campus 11 miles away. 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS. Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 3 years RN experience, 1 full year of stepdown experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience. Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population: Cardiac (post cath stents/interventions, pacers), CIWA/BH, Sepsis, DKA, CVA, CPAP, feeding tubes, crani POD 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic/bear hugger. Skillset: REQUIRED- Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (travelers are required to pass a tele test), Initiate/titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin, etc.). Post surgical assessment/care. NIHSS/Neuro assessments/dysphagia screen. PREFFERED- Stable home vents, PleurX drain/pericardial drains, lumber drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates. Unit Information: 16 beds; Ratio: Days 1:3-4; NOCs 1:3-4 (1:5 for M/S). CN takes 1:2 patient assignment. Unit Strengths: Fantastic CNA support, very helpful charge nurses, great teamwork. Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to change The Progressive Care Unit RN, as a professionalpractitioner, assumes the responsibility and accountability for deliveringpatient care to telemetry/progressive care patients. The Progressive Care UnitRN demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective andefficient manner with supervision. This individual employs critical thinkingand performance ability in the coordinator of patient care, consistentlyperforms according to nursing standards, and is accountable in managing patientcare and assisting others in the management of patient care. The Progressive Care Unit RN is sometimesalso called a step-down nurse, cardiac stepdown, neuro stepdown, surgicalstepdown and in some medical centers, the PCU is also known as a transition orintermedia unit. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement andevaluate patient care on a progressive care unit + Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients'needs + Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic andpsychosocial changes in the patient’s condition + Collects, analyzes, and interprets data and information fromhealth care members and documents actual and/or potential nursing diagnoses + Documents the patient’s plan of care using identifiednursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursinginterventions + Identifies and prioritizes actions based upon patient carerequirements + Performs interventions according to identified priorities,plan of care, and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standard + Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patientenvironment + Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education + Revises the plan of care according to evaluation, changes inmedical plan of care, effective/ineffective nursing interventions + Documents patient’s response to nursing and otherinterventions + Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meetpatient care needs of an assigned unit/floor including establishing priorities + Monitors safety and effectiveness of the environment andequipment Minimum Requirements: + Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices + One year prior professional nursing experience preferredwith one year progressive care unit experience preferred + Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice + Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site + Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements + Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required + Computer proficiency required + Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:+ Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
