Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Acute care experience, preferably in medical-surgical; flexibility with schedule Job Description: - Seeking a Registered Nurse for a medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedics.- The unit has 32 beds with a dedicated team comprising both day and night staff.- Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2 patient care technicians.- Patient ratios are maintained at 1:5 or 1:6 during the day and 1:6 or 1:7 during the night.- Equipment used includes PCAs, on-Q pumps, Hoyer lifts, traction devices, and wound vacs.- Familiarity with Meditech EMR is preferred.- Typical procedures include neurosurgeries (kyphoplasty, decompression, laminectomy), fracture repairs, general surgery, bariatric surgery, bladder sling, and hysterectomy.- Strong time management skills and being a team player are essential for success in this role.- The dress code requires navy blue scrubs.- The unit has received multiple awards, including HCA Unit of Distinction Awards and the PRISM award.- Highlights include new equipment, technology, and diverse scheduling options.
