The role in a nutshell
The Cloud Operations Engineer is responsible for building out our operations platform, ensuring efficiency through automation, deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing strategic integrations that meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, a well-rounded understanding of Enterprise Architecture, and an automation background with experience running production environments at scale. The candidate will help develop new architectural patterns for emerging products, contribute to environment standardization, develop new monitoring and security tools, and contribute to maintaining operational BAU.

Core responsibilities
Contribute to operational readiness and platform stability by proactive automation and reactive environment supportDevelop and maintain a platform of integrated systems and tooling to support Agile and DevOps practices across a diverse set of workflows used by multiple development teamsEvaluate and integrate third-party software and configure connectivity with client infrastructureMaintain and enforce compliance with audit controls and external certificationsDesign and implement solutions for managing applications and infrastructure, with goals of increasing the security, reliability, repeatability, and consistency of operational tasksWork with software developers to ensure best practices of development, processes, testing, operations, production deployment and monitoringWork closely with business and technology teams to analyze and resolve issues on the platformProvide day-to-day application-level support for production incidentsDevelop and maintain automation application tools, websites, and utilitiesActively contribute to ongoing process improvement to help streamline the development life cycleDesired experience
5+ years of infrastructure engineering experienceExtensive knowledge of modern cloud environments (preferably AWS)Linux sysadmin and debugging experienceProficiency in 1 or more scripting languages. Python preferredProficiency in Infrastructure-as-code management. Terraform preferredProblem solving and focus on understanding root-cause of issuesExperience with VMs and containersExperience running scalable, multi-region production environmentsStrong communication skillsTeam playerSense of humorThe base pay range for this position in New York is $140,000 - $170,000 annually. Pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Equity and year-end bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
