Company Overview We are a dynamic and evolving company currently utilizing Domo as our primary Business Intelligence platform. We are integrated with a wide array of data sources, including relational databases, cloud services, and third-party APIs. We have a solid desire to continue to elevate our BI infrastructure. We are exploring migration to other leading BI platforms to enhance data analytics capabilities and drive strategic decision-making. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer who is proficient in ETL processes, data warehousing, and BI platform engineering. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Domo and expertise in migrating to other top-tier BI platforms. You will play a critical role in architecting, developing, and maintaining our BI solutions, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance. Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities (These responsibilities must be able to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation) Data Engineering and ETL Development Architect, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Informatica, Talend, or SSIS. Extract data from diverse sources, including SQL databases, NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and streaming data platforms. Implement data transformation and cleansing using Python, Scala, or R to ensure high data quality and integrity. Load data into data warehouses like Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery, optimizing for query performance and cost-efficiency. Data Warehousing and Modeling Design and maintain enterprise-level data warehouses and data lakes. Develop complex data models (both logical and physical) using star schema, snowflake schema, and other methodologies. Implement data partitioning, clustering, and indexing strategies to enhance performance. BI Platform Engineering and Migration Administer and optimize the current Domo BI environment, including Domo Workbench. Lead the technical migration from Domo to one of the top BI platforms such as: Microsoft Power BI Tableau Looker MicroStrategy Microsoft Fabric Architect and deploy the new BI platform infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability. Re-engineer existing dashboards, reports, and data models in the new platform, leveraging advanced features and best practices. Performance Tuning and Optimization Monitor and optimize query performance, data loading processes, and dashboard rendering times. Implement caching strategies, materialized views, and other optimization techniques. Data Governance and Security Establish and enforce data governance policies, including data cataloging, data lineage tracking, and metadata management. Implement robust security protocols, including role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and audit logging. Collaboration and Leadership Collaborate with other members of a small yet capable IT Team, financial analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable BI solutions. Education Bachelor's, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Technical Skills Programming Languages: Proficient in Python, SQL, and optionally Scala or Java. Databases: Extensive experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL. ETL Tools: Expertise in Apache Airflow, Informatica PowerCenter, Talend, or SSIS. Cloud Platforms: Strong knowledge of AWS (e.g., Redshift, S3, Lambda), Azure (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory), or Google Cloud Platform (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow). Version Control: Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows. Containerization and Orchestration: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. Soft Skills Exceptional problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities. Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, preferably with experience in Agile or Scrum methodologies. Travel/Location: Local travel is primarily done during the business day and is required for this full-time, in-office position .
