About the Emergency Department:

Located in a rapidly growing area, Pender Memorial Hospital is committed to providing exceptional care to our community. While we're not yet a trauma center, we're actively progressing in that direction. Our team comprises of a blend of seasoned professionals and fresh talent, fostering a supportive and inclusive family-like atmosphere. Equipped with 11 sick beds, our department is designed to facilitate efficient and effective patient care, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1 to 4. Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing.Current valid North Carolina nursing license required.Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.1 Year of ED experience in an acute hospital setting.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

Quickly assess and prioritize patient care needs in the emergency department.Administer urgent medical treatments and interventions according to protocols.Work closely with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and communicate updates.Provide patient and family education, offering emotional support during emergencies.Assist with critical procedures like resuscitation and trauma stabilization as required.Accurately document patient information and care interventions in medical records.
