MHS is seeking a full-time Project Manager to join our Capital Projects Department.
This position manages the preconstruction and construction phase of capital construction projects from budget development through construction completion for academic, athletic, and administrative facilities, student homes, and related infrastructure work campus wide. This position will primarily manage projects in the preconstruction phase.
Some of the responsibilities include:
Provide early planning support to define project scope of work.
Manage the preparation of budget and progress estimates.
Assist in preparing the annual capital budget.
Manage and coordinate design work performed by architectural/engineering (A/E) firms.
Interface with state and local agencies as required to obtain necessary permits/approvals.
Manage the contractor bidding and contract award process.
Responsibilities may also include management of projects in construction:
Manage contractor work, prepare project construction schedules, review submittals and shop drawings, review/process invoices and change orders, track/monitor project costs in relation to approved budgets, inspect work quality, and accept completed work.
Manage the turnover of final project documentation to the Facilities Department.
This position is in Hershey, PA and is an in-person role, working standard business hours Monday - Friday.
This position pays between $74,862.00 - $99,421.00 annually with excellent benefits package (medical, vision & dental insurance, 401(a) retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, wellness benefits and free lunches).Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management with 8+ years of experience in planning, management and/or field oversight of construction projects.
Knowledge of federal, state and local regulatory laws and regulations.
In depth knowledge of construction planning methods and practices.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications.
Valid PA Driver’s License in good standing.
Additional certifications and/or licenses are a plus.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Candidates should be eager to actively engage with students.
Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
