Accounting and Reporting Supervisor

in our division headquarters group. Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (ARDx) manufactures fast, accurate and reliable rapid diagnostic testing that are vital in emergency rooms, critical care centers and other situations where treatment decisions need to be made quickly provides immediate, actionable results, right where you need them.

ARDx is comprised of business units that provide lateral flow rapid testing products in the area of infectious diseases; molecular point-of-care testing; cardiometabolic testing; toxicology business for drug and alcohol testing; and consumer remote patient monitoring and self-testing.

Our testing platforms include BinaxNOW, Panbio, ID NOW, and Afinion.

The ARDx Accounting and Reporting Supervisor performs accounting activities that require an understanding of accounting and operational aspects of the finance and accounting systems.

ARDx is utilizing the legacy Alere HFM financial consolidation system and SAP system and this position is instrumental in ensuring accurate and timely submissions of actuals to Abbott Corporate.

To succeed in this position, the candidate should be well-organized and possess strong leadership, analytical, communication, financial systems, and excel skills.

What You’ll Work OnExecute timely and accurate financial activities in support of business partners.

Responsible for ARDx assigned entity month-end closing activities, including, journal entry preparation, account analysis, intercompany transfers and account reconciliations.

Assist in preparation of ARDx and Abbott Corporate Management monthly financial reporting packages.

Assist in the preparation of assigned entity Statutory Audits

Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, Abbott Corporate and division/department specific policies and procedures

Provide support for internal and external audits and Corporate Tax requests

Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for assigned activities.

Operate independently, be flexible in changing environment and challenge the status quo.

Perform configuration and testing related to existing or new processes/implementations as needed.

Participate in ARDx process improvement reviews across current finance structure, identify areas requiring change and support the change process.

Support all Company initiatives and ad-hoc requests as identified by ARDx management.

This role supervises 1 person.

Required Qualifications5-7 years progressively responsible accounting and reporting experience

Experience with large ERP system; SAP preferred

Strong Microsoft skills, including use of pivot tables, vlookups and analysis of data using Excel, some VBA macros knowledge helpful

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or similar)

Preferred QualificationsAbility to work within a team and as a supervisor and an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

1+ years' experience working in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

1+ years' knowledge of accounting regulations of operational accounting issues.

Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

1+ years' mentor or management experience.

CPA preferred but not required

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
