What you will doJohnson Controls is seeking an experienced Software Manager to guide a team of talented engineers in the development of embedded control and user experience equipment for our Data Center HVAC equipment. This role requires a background in embedded software engineering and Agile methodologies for equipment controls. The engineering manager and their team will focus on HVAC equipment and applications within data centers environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for leadership, innovation, and delivering high-quality solutions. This position is onsite located in our New Freedom, PA, JADEC facility.

How you will do itGuide, mentor, and project manage a global team of embedded software, controls, and test engineers.

Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Create and deploy an Agile methodologies process to plan, execute, and monitor projects, ensuring timely delivery.

Collaborate with global engineering teams on technology and best practices.

Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior management and other key stakeholders.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development opportunities.

Establish and maintain rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure software reliability and performance.

Maintain standard workflow processes to manage workload within the team.

Ensure transparency of process and performance.

What we look forRequiredBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.

Experience working in an Agile environment.

Strong planning and forecasting skills. Ability to lead a team with a high degree of integrity and trust.

2+ years of leadership or managerial experience, managing a team of 5-10 engineers.

PreferredKnowledge of secure software development best practices.

Experience with Linux based systems.
