Salary: $165,000 - $225,000 per year

Located in San Francisco, this role would be onsite 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services, APIs, and systems written in TypeScript & Node
• Architect and optimize data pipelines to manage and process large-scale data efficiently
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate diverse services and data sources
• Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes for scalable solutions
• Ensure high performance, security, and availability of backend infrastructure
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues in both development and production environments
• Contribute to architectural discussions, bringing innovative ideas and solutions to the team

Requirements

• 6-12 years of experience as a Backend Engineer, preferably with recent work building backend services and APIs using Node.js
• Experience with building API's end to end and event-driven software or Microservices
• Experience with setting up data infrastructure, ETL, and large scale data systems and various tools such as MongoDB
• Expertise in AWS cloud services, Terraform was a big plus
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute to architectural decisions

Preferred:

• Previous experience at both startup environments and larger tech companies like Twitter or Meta
• Demonstrated ability to design and build systems from scratch
• Experience building data infrastructure from scratch at a fast-growing startup with an understanding of data modeling, ontologies, and knowledge graphs.
