Position Information Title: AI Integration Developer Department: `Inana Program (SNSM) This position is grant-funded until: 9/30/25 This position qualifies for remote working: As determined by the supervisor Full Time, Exempt II. Position Summary This is a technical staff position supporting the app development ecosystem established in the `Inana program to date. The AI Integration Developer will guide students in the effective integration of AI technologies into their mobile and web-based apps, adding competitive advantage and increasing the pitch-readiness of student apps. This role involves collaborating with student teams to understand their app concepts, identifying opportunities where AI can enhance functionality, and providing hands-on support in implementing AI tools and frameworks. The Developer will educate students on best practices for ethical AI usage, data management, and scalability, ensuring that their AI solutions are both innovative and practical. Additionally, the Developer will help bridge the gap between technical AI concepts and entrepreneurial goals, fostering an environment where students can create AI-driven applications that meet real-world needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (100%) Support AI Integration in Student Projects: Guide student teams in the integration of AI technologies into their app development projects, ensuring that AI solutions are both innovative and practical. Identify and recommend AI tools and frameworks that align with student app concepts, providing hands-on support in their implementation. Educate students on best practices for ethical AI usage, data management, and scalability to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of their applications. Student and Faculty Support: Partner with faculty and student teams to raise awareness of AI technologies and their practical applications in app development. Offer training sessions and workshops on AI integration, ensuring that students are equipped with the skills necessary to leverage these technologies effectively. Mentor students in developing and executing research/internship projects that utilize AI, guiding them in areas such as AI model development, data analytics, and ethical considerations. Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Support: Collaborate with the Inana program leadership to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem by integrating AI technologies that increase the pitch-readiness of student apps. Foster an environment that bridges the gap between technical AI concepts and entrepreneurial goals, enabling students to create AI-driven applications that meet real-world needs. V. VI. Education and Experience Required: Education: MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on AI/ML and its integration into business workflows Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in AI/ML integration, preferably in app development or related fields. Preferred Education/Experience: Education: MS with previous experience in AI/ML integration, data management, and ethical AI practices. Experience: Prior experience in mentoring students and working in an educational setting. VII. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities AI & Machine Learning: Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and others Experience in developing, training, and deploying AI/ML models in production environments. Software Development: Development of Apps for web and mobile environments using both code and no code/low code platforms Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or other relevant languages used in AI integration. Strong experience in software development best practices, including version control and CI/CD pipelines. Data Management & Ethics: Understanding of data management practices, including data privacy, security, and ethical considerations in AI usage. Collaboration & Mentorship: Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse student teams and faculty. Experience in mentoring or teaching students in technical subjects. VIII. Physical Requirements Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and require a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 10 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. IX. Other Requirements Must have a valid Driver's License. This is a full-time, exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule. The position may incorporate remote working and travel/temporary deployment to partner research/training sites. Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner. Report weekly to the immediate supervisor, both verbally and in writing, and more frequently as requested. Performs other related duties as assigned. X. Grant Funded Position This position is funded completely or in part by supplemental funds received from the Inana program and other extramural funding sources. Funds from the grant are expected to stop on September 30, 2025. Continuation of employment is dependent on program and/or operational needs of the University and the annual availability of grant funds.
