General Summary COLSA Corporation is seeking an experienced and motivated Virtualization Systems Engineer to support Virtualization and Cloud Platform efforts on our Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Enterprise Information Technology Support Services (EITSS) contract. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in VMware technologies to include but not limited to vCloud Director, vCenter, vSphere, vRealize Suite, NSX-T, vSAN, ESXi, Windows Server, Linux, DoD STIGs, and networking. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure in a high-security, Department of Defense (DoD) environment. You will work closely with Senior Systems Analysts and other members of the Information Technology (IT) team to ensure all systems and applications are running efficiently and effectively, meeting the DoD's standards for performance, security, and compliance. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions) Manage and maintain the VMware virtual Cloud Director (vCD) and vSphere infrastructure, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, vSAN, and NSX-T for the enterprise and specialized tenants organizations within AvMC. Administer and configure vRealize Suite components, including vRealize Operations Manager, vRealize Log Insight, and vRealize Life Cycle Manager. Create and manage virtual and physical data centers and deploy virtual machines with the virtual data center. Administer Windows and Linux systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of applications and services as they relate to the infrastructure. Configure virtual networks and associated firewalls within NSX-T and work in conjunction with other teams to integrate into physical networks. Engineer and sustain virtual and physical data storage systems and integrate them into the virtual and physical infrastructures. Ensure compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and other security standards and guidelines. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Perform system backups and disaster recovery operations while working with associated project leads and system owners. Provide technical support to other Project/System Administrators. Required SkillsRequired Experience Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.) or equivalent experience. Minimum of 20 years of work-related experience. Current CompTIA Security CE. Work experience with engineering and administrating VMware vCD, vSphere infrastructure, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, vSAN, and NSX-T. Experience with DoD security requirements and regulations; STIGs associated with VMware, ESXi and data storage systems. Work experience with engineering, installing, troubleshooting server hardware and associated cabling to include configuration and sustainment of iLO services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with and in dynamic teams of people with various levels of technical and business skills. Experiencing leading a technical team. Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs. U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Active DoD Secret Clearance is highly preferred. Architectural experience Windows Active Directory and associated group policies integrated with Linux systems using IDM. Self-starter, driven, and results-oriented professional with excellent collaboration skills is highly preferred.
