Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement analysis.
- Create and maintain monthly reports to compare and analyze actual results against budgets, forecasts, and previous results.
- Collaborate with department leaders to identify cost savings and maximize profitability.
- Serve as a point of contact and resource for department leaders to resolve issues.
- Manage accounts payable, including payment processing and overseeing the AP team.
- Prepare sales and use tax returns.
- Implement and streamline ERP and business applications.
- Issue timely and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of external monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Assist external auditors with the annual audit.
- Coordinate the preparation of income tax returns and provision requests.
- Assist with the integration of acquisitions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting systems and supporting databases, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.
- Train and support team members in the use of financial systems.
What the company needs in a Controller:
- CPA Designation
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
- Public Accounting Experience working for a large regional firm
- NetSuite Experience (+)
- ERP management and implementation experience (+)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Salary: $120,000-140,000
