Data Warehouse Architect

JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Warehouse Architect will play a key role in the design, development, and management of scalable and efficient data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data engineering, data warehouse architecture, and design, with specific expertise in Snowflake. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft solutions that meet business and technical requirements. SAP experience is a plus, as the role may also involve integrating SAP data into broader analytics initiatives. This position is hybrid work eligible.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):
• Design and Architect Data Warehousing Solutions:
o Develop and maintain robust, scalable data warehouse solutions using Snowflake.
o Define data warehouse architecture and standards, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.
o Design and implementation of ETL/ELT processes for effective data ingestion and transformation.

Data Engineering and Optimization:
o Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable data processing.
o Maintain and enhance data models to meet evolving analytical needs.
o Apply best practices for cost management, performance tuning, query optimization, and data warehouse scalability.

• Collaboration and Solution Design:
o Work closely with business users and data consumers to understand their needs, translating them into effective data solutions.
o Collaborate with BI teams to deliver advanced reporting and analytics solutions.

• Snowflake Expertise:
o Leverage advanced Snowflake features to build high-performance and cost-effective data warehousing solutions.
o Implementation of best practices in Snowflake for security, governance, and access control.

• SAP Data Integration (Plus):
o Integrate SAP data with other data sources for comprehensive enterprise analytics.
o Provide expertise in SAP data structures, helping bridge the gap between SAP and Snowflake environments.

• Documentation and Governance:
o Create and maintain detailed documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow mappings, and technical specifications.
o Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards.
o Other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

• Experience:
o 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data warehousing roles.
o Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse.
o Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data warehouse solutions.
o Proficiency in SQL, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
o Experience with data integration, ETL/ELT tools, and data pipeline design.
o Familiarity key business processes in manufacturing and supply chain systems like SAP, including the integration of data from such systems, is a plus.

• Skills and Abilities:
o Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on designing efficient, scalable solutions.
o Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
o Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is desirable.
o Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet project deadlines.
o Hybrid work schedule eligible.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and data visualization.
• Familiarity with SAP HANA, BW, or ECC data sources.
• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
