Leveraging our growing security product suite, a
Web Application Security
Analyst
contributes real world security insights to Fastly and our customers as part of our Customer Security Operations Center (CSOC) team, as we address Internet-scale threats.
The CSOC team provides operational support for Fastly's security products and services. Cloud security solutions enable our customers to benefit from extra visibility across the world and expertise from a central team. Analysts within this team focus on delivering outstanding security services to our customers. The team works with the security, operations and customer organizations internally to respond to security threats faced on the Internet today.
What You'll Do:
You will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing customer activity, like identifying account-takeover, bot attacks, DDoS attacks and other malicious web traffic. The focus will be around attacks at the application layer. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the world's most scalable distributed systems that handle around 25 million requests per second, as well as the world-class engineers who developed these systems.
Analysts are responsible for the following:
Provide an outstanding response to customer security issues and supportProvide an excellent customer experienceAnalyze web traffic and identify suspicious activityTriaging and responding to incoming tickets and proactively detected alertsWrite, contribute to, and review security reportsManage security configurations for our customersNew alert creationsNew attack mitigationsModification of existing controlsRespond to tickets and alerts in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)Contribute to the processes and policies that scale our organization as we growProvide support for Terraform deployments and configurationsTroubleshoot issues related to Kubernetes deployments and configurationsTroubleshoot SSO configurations and integrationsWhat We're Looking For:
Strong interest in infosec and application securityWorking knowledge of core internet technologies like DNS, HTTP & TLSAn understanding of the OSI model and are able to explain potential exploit methods at each layerExperience in any IT or security operations, technical support, or research related roleScripting ability in a popular coding languagesKubernetes/ Terraform knowledge/ experienceDesire to contribute to the processes and policies that scale our organization as we growAssist with the maintenance of existing runbooks and identifying when a new one should be createdDesire to work and learn on one's own initiative but in a supportive team environmentExperience troubleshooting WAF productsFluency in English (both spoken and written) required and you know how to adapt content for different audiencesConnecting with clients to address concerns or escalations; track and drive to closure any issues that impact the service and its value to clientsFocused on delivering exceptional customer experiencesWork Hours:Tuesday to Saturday each week around core hours 9am - 6pm
Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:This position is open to the following preferred office locations:Denver, US (only)
Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home, with at least two days per week in the office.This position will require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is $102,780.00 - $128,470.00
Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly's equity and discretionary bonus programs.
