Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer

UnitedLex is hiring a skilled and experienced Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Administrator & DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our AKS environments, implementing DevOps practices, and ensuring the seamless deployment and operation of applications. This role requires a deep understanding of Kubernetes, Azure cloud services, and DevOps methodologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Azure Cloud Management:
Manage Azure resources including VMs, networking, and storage.
Optimize costs by managing resource usage and scaling.
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery plans.
Stay updated with new Azure services and features and provide recommendations for their implementation.
AKS Administration:
Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
Monitor and maintain the health and performance of AKS clusters.
Implement scaling strategies to ensure high availability and performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AKS and containerized applications.
DevOps Practices:
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools.
Automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or ARM templates.
Ensure security best practices are followed, including managing secrets and access controls.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with development teams to support application deployment and operations.
Provide guidance and support to other team members on AKS and DevOps best practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures.
Generate and analyze performance reports and recommend improvements.
Document incidents and resolutions to improve the knowledge base and future response.
REQUIREMENTS & COMPETENCIES:
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as an AKS Administrator and DevOps Engineer.
Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
Proficiency with Azure cloud services and management.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.
Familiarity with IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
Strong scripting skills in languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Azure certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or similar.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
Experience with Git and version control systems.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role reflects the range of factors that inform case-by-case compensation decisions including education, experience, training, licensure, certification, and geography as well as the business and organizational needs specific to the role. Compensation ranges may be broad, reflecting flexibility within the budget and title to consider candidates of varied experience. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this role is $115,000 to $140,000/year. Select roles are additionally eligible for Incentive Compensation in the form of our Annual Performance Bonus Program.
