About the Role The Data Protection Specialist is the key role responsible for technical data compliance, including Trade Compliance, CUI, Export, and Intellectual Property classification. The role will collaborate to determine classifications/protection and train on compliant data transfers. Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect Serve as the primary contact and liaison for technical Data Protection tagging within Teamcenter for wheeled and tracked products. Assign classification of products using: (a) the EAR and the CCL, (b) informed compliance publications, and (c) company engineering materials. Analyze technical data and clearly articulate the appropriate HTS code when necessary. Understand and interpret regulations impacting tagging, including Trade Compliance, Intellectual Property, Export Compliance, and Controlled Unclassified Information. Assign Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes, Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs), and regional trade-related codes to primary and secondary products imported and exported in the normal course of business. Work with key internal stakeholders to review data and agreements to ensure compliance. Support various stages of audits and assessments. Prioritize data tagging needs in the tagging workflow for all objects, ensuring timely classification based on the need by date. Collaborate with Information Security functions to maintain records of all data assets and exports, ensuring database maintenance. Perform mass updates based on regulation changes to ensure the security of data. Apply appropriate data protection methods for projects and licenses. Serve as a subject matter expert for data transfers and secure collaboration. Conduct departmental training as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements 4-6 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Intellectual Property, Controlled Unclassified Information, or Export Compliance. Bachelor's degree required. Security Clearance: Secret (Level 2) - currently possess or able to obtain. (Non-US citizens may not be eligible) Preferred proficiency in analyzing technical data, including engineering drawings. Extensive classification experience. In-depth understanding and experience with ECCN classification methodology. Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability. Proficient in communication, organization, and prioritization skills. Detail-oriented. Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office applications. Goal-oriented and able to work under time-sensitive and demanding conditions. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with ITAR, Department of Commerce Licensing, Customs regulations, EAR, Export & Licensing regulations, Oracle. Knowledge of the requirements and maintenance of conditions issued by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ability to work with Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain to properly assign HTS Codes, ECCN, and Country of Origin for all fabricated and purchased parts. Experience collaborating across markets and functions. US CITIZENSHIP REQUIREMENT: This assignment is a US Government Contract which requires all applicants to be US Citizens.
